I love having lights outdoors in my garden and I have decided that although I really like the red rope lights I have in the trees around the edge of the garden, they need updating. Not that it is out of fashion or anything but I have had them for a few years and it would be nice to have a change, both for me to look at and to show people when they come round and visit. I have seen some lovely white string lights which I think would be more subtle and would be quite different. I have a white wall in the garden and I think it will look really nice with that, especially as it gets dusky and isn’t really fully dark as you will still see it. I have also decided that as I like gentle lighting so much I am going to get some under cabinet lighting for my kitchen/diner. Then when I have indoor dinner parties I will use it instead of the main light and have candles on the table to make a really nice atmosphere. I think it could be quite romantic when I have a meal with my husband as well.

My children’s school has decided to have a furniture sale to try to raise money for school funds. I think that it is a good idea and I have agreed to help sort through the donations and separate them in to categories as well as collect items people cannot carry. I went to someone’s house yesterday to pick up some speaker stands which I think will raise quite a bit of money. I feel good being able to help out like this because I had nothing to donate apart from one bar stool which is not in the best condition and so I feel like I am doing my best by giving my time. I will be helping out at the sale on the big day as well. I have also been asked to look in to the sale of electrical items as we have had irons, stereos and a popcorn popper and I know there is legislation about getting electrical things tested before selling them and so we will have to check that first. I am sure I will be able to find out information about it on the Internet and hopefully we will be able to sell them as that will help us with making even more money.

I am trying to choose a nice gift for my friend. I think the wearers will feel like they are right on trend but also will be able to have quite a laugh with the design. I am sure that all of my friends and family will enjoy them, although I am sure that some of them will only wear them around the house or in bed as they do not go for that type of shirt. I do not mind though as I still think they are a fun gift to give.

My sister is expecting and is finding it really hard to get some good infant bedding. She doesn’t know whether she is having a boy or a girl, which is not helping things. She would like to have really bright colors as well as she thinks that whites and pastels are boring and she is having a job finding something like that for a little one, especially in the shops that she can afford to shop at. I think it is nice to have something stimulating rather than just plain colors but because they are not using it for long, it means that they will soon need something new and so it may seem like a waste of money to pay out more than is necessary. I think that it is best to get something cheap and then spend a bit more on the next set of sports bedding which they are likely to use for a long time. I guess it all depends on what your priorities are really and whether you really think that having stimulating colors will be important for your child or whether having something pastel and more relaxing might be the way to go. It is really hard to know until it is born and then it is too late to do much about it.

I have been looking around for a cheap prom dress and it is turning out to be very difficult. I am having trouble because I have a very curvy figure and therefore can find that some dress designs just make me look very round. I want something which will really flatter my figure and because that sort of cut is not in fashion at the moment, it is proving to be hard to find something. Obviously it needs to be an affordable prom dress as well and for me that is also not that easy, because many dresses are extremely expensive. I am trying to look for sales but I find that they only seem to have very small or very big dresses and nothing in my size. It is getting to be very irritating and I am beginning to wish that I could afford to pay someone to make one. I suppose I could have a go myself but patterns and fabric shops are so rare these days that I would not even know where to go to enquire as to where my nearest one was. I know that all of my well off class mates will look stunning and I just hope that I can too.

I think that I might just get a few nice chains to go with some of the pendants that I have already and then maybe get myself some nice new gold hoop earrings. I know that they are not that modern but they are still fashionable and they suit me and my hairstyle and I feel great wearing them and I have even seen some young girls wearing them too. They will also go well with some of my more fancy gold pendants as they are pretty plain.
